Bringing the Bible to the people of Africa
Ruth Raharimanantsoa is our missionary working with Wycliffe in Congo (Brazzaville) where she co-ordinates the work of translating the Bible into various local languages of French-speaking Africa. Ruth married Mamy in October 2004. Mamy, whose original home was Madagascar, lectures in theology in a college in Brazzaville.
Spinnaker Trust
Spinnaker staff lead assemblies and lessons in local primary schools and run other activities such as 'Bible is Fun' clubs in partnership with local churches. We support Gwen Kearley, our part-time children's minister, who is also a Spinnaker staff member.
Pre-schools in poor communities in NE Brazil
We help fund the work of Iolanda Miranda da Silva, co-ordinating church-based pre-schools (PEPEs) in some of the poorest communities in NE Brazil. Our support for Iolanda, a worker with the Baptist Brazilian Mission, is channelled through Operation Agri BMM.
Relief help in Zimbabwe
Phillip Jambaya, director of aid & development with the National Baptist Convention for Zimbabwe, is currently bringing emergency food and seed aid to some of the most disadvantaged people in that embattled country. Our support for Phillip's work is channelled through the relief fund of BMS World Mission. |
